Executive Summary
My name is Josh Jonasson and I’m originally from Calgary, AB. Growing up I was exposed to the great outdoors quite a lot, whether it be skiing in the mountains around Banff, or camping with my family during the summer months. I feel like this instilled in me a connection with the earth and has deeply affected my life path, as well as developed my passion for sharing my love of adventure. It is for this reason that I have chosen to pursue a career in backcountry guiding and why I spent three years living in the mountain paradise that is Banff. There I worked as a ski instructor and a trail guide, developing my technical skills and getting industry experience. This past year I completed the adventure guide certificate at Thompson Rivers University, furthering my education in the field of guiding. I used the certifications and skills I acquired through the adventure guide program to pursue work as a raft guide on the Kananaskis river and I hope to continue exploring the ever growing outdoor industry.
