Vision Statement
My vision for the future is to continue advancing my career as a raft guide and work towards becoming a certified ski guide. My plan is to spend a winter acquiring my CSGA level one certification, as well as seek out a practicum at a cat skiing operation after I have completed the second year of the adventure guide program. I would also like to take my career international by working in New Zealand during their winter season. In the following years, I hope to secure a job as a tail guide and continue my education by taking more advanced avalanche related courses. My long term goal is to eventually progress to being a lead guide for a heli skiing operation and become adept in avalanche forecasting and management. I would also like to volunteer my time for a search and rescue organization to give back to the outdoor community. In terms of rafting, I see myself continuing to develop my skills and spending another season working on the Kananaskis River. For the future, there are a few rivers in British Columbia where I would love the opportunity to work. Number one being the Clearwater River because it is a paddler’s paradise and would not only allow me to work on my rafting skills, but also significantly develop my kayaking abilities. The final goal is to carve out a spot in the adventure industry so that I am able to share my love for the outdoors with people who may not have had the same opportunities that I was given.
